Lasse is interested in understanding the societal effects of people’s tendencies to choose their partners, and he developed a simple model that can replicate the real tendency of this choice, showing that people seem to select partners from the same geographic area.

Uncovering the elephant in the room, Lasse discussed how to deal with the tons of input deriving from the first approach to the research world, like going to conferences, talking to other researchers, and being in contact with new ideas that seem extremely urgent to investigate.

In this dodgeball game, where there is a continuous flow of inspirational ideas, we need to “Learn to say no and to prioritise” - says Lasse. It’s not possible to handle all projects simultaneously, and the key is prioritising tasks and dividing them accordingly.
