His research (see his slides) aims to unify complex and simple contagion under a unique model; but how did he cope with the long-standing fight of Empirical validation VS Model? Well, thanks to Large Language Models !

During programming in Python, he also struggled with slow simulations, as often happens when dealing with parametric models. So, he gave Julia a shot (with Snakemake) and found that it was much faster!
