[#12] Weighted simplicial complexes and their representation power of higher-order network data and topology

She explained (see her slides) with great clarity how to create weighted simplicial complexes to represent hypernetworks without loss of information, and so use tools developed for simplicial complexes! For example, this can be used to better model collaboration networks.

In the second part of the talk, Federica shared with us the experience of what a PhD career in Italy is like, along with the many challenges a student encounters, from low salaries and partial rights to lots of bureaucracy.

This opened the discussion on what is the situation in other countries, and from our interchange, a higher-order issue emerged: is a PhD really considered a job everywhere? Share your thoughts on Bluesky!
